The Survival of the Fittest:- How to Survive Smartly in the Wild

Charles Darwin’s proved a long time ago that only the fittest will be able to survive. It famously goes, in due course of time only the fittest or smartest will
survive. It was a famous theory and
is how the world lives by it. So if you were to say that between you and a wild bear, who is going to survive, it is going to be the bear who would survive, but if it were the wild bear and you with a knife, well then you have your chances. If you are out to wander and navigate in the wilderness, you should keep some points in mind.

One is to Never forget your survival kit and two is knowing your way into the wilderness.

The survival kit:
The idea of being in the wild without your survival kit should be enough to send shivers down your spine. The survival kit is as necessary to your survival as the air is. You can never be a pro at surviving in the wild if you don’t have a survival kit.
Your survival kit should have the basic things that are required to keep you going safely such as a

  • A torch
  • A lighter
  • A compass
  • A map
  • Enough water supply
  • Cooking gears
  • First aid kit
  • A tent or sleeping bag
  • A knife - the Knife will be at its work now and then, for cutting, sharpening, chopping and also protecting. So, make sure that you get a really good knife such as a bowie knife of Damascus steel because that would be preferable and not a cheap one.

All the equipment that you carry should be of the best qualities. Another addition is the ropes and belts that should help you trek down a hill or a steep depth.

The second and equally important thing is that you should also know about practical on-ground skills.
You should know how to start a fire and also make a shelter. You should have vague knowledge about camping and camping tools, and activities, know how to find your way through the wild, and knowledge about nature's cuisines. You should know your water sources in case you run out of it. You can depend on natural resources such as water streams, rainwater, snow, and even depend on the vegetation such as dew or the plant moisture.

Remember, it’s surviving the wild and not a vacation, so pack light but pack smart. Survival is exhausting as well as challenging, so you can cut yourself some slack, so the easier you make it for yourself the easier will it be survive.

Conclusion:

While you plan a trip to the wilderness make sure that you plan it appropriately, make sure that you are prepared, pack the important stuff, know what you eat, know the practical skills, keep calm and stay positive.
